IS IT TOO LATE is a song and music picture about the political culture of corporatism and capitalism run amuck. The song was written and performed by Robby Romero to draw attention to a global crisis, climate change.
Prefaced by Mikhail Gorbachev, the first President of the Soviet Union, during the 1990 Global Forum of Spiritual and Parliamentary Leaders in Moscow, IS IT TOO LATE first broadcast internationally from the Kremlin on ORT Channel One Russia. On 22 April 1990, IS IT TOO LATE was broadcast Nationally during a live televised Earth Day celebration from the west steps of the United States Capitol. For the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Children and the Environment Project, IS IT TOO LATE screened in the General Assembly Hall at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
IS IT TOO LATE was recorded at Island Records, Fallout Shelter in London, and mixed by Grammy-winner Rob Fraboni at The Power Station in New York City. The Red Thunder lineup includes musicians David Amram, Jean Louis Aubert, Katya Bocharova, Randy Castillo, Tokahewin Clifford, Si Hi-Man, Patricia Mujalisa, Ndonda, Terri Nunn, Christian Riou, Dakhóta Romero, Stevie Salas, Joanne Shenandoah, Sola, and Danny Tshanda, with special appearances by Austin Two Moons (Northen Cheyenne Spiritual Leader) and Reverend Jun Sei Teresawa (Nipponzan-Myōhōji Buddhist Monk).
The music picture was filmed at the Nipponzan-Myōhōji Buddhist Peace Pagoda in Milton Keynes, England, directed by English film, documentary, and MTV Video Vanguard Award-winner Julien Temple — and by producer, director, cinematographer Hart Perry. Julien Temple began his career with short films featuring the Sex Pistols. Hart Perry's music video awards include FIGHT THE POWER by Public Enemy and SUN CITY by Little Steven.
